Darling Dear Vol. 15

I know it's been rather infrequent posting here lately, but I'm returning to a (roughly) once-a-week routine now. Back on track with what could be the final installment of Darling Dear ... never say never I suppose, but don't expect to see more for a few years at least. I do have plans for a future anthology that will feature some of the early rhythm 'n blues and soul sounds associated with this series. Enjoy.

Love, Love, Love

Here's another for the songbook series ...

James Ralph Bailey was in and out of several New York vocal groups during the late 50s and early 60s, in addition to being a long time member of The Cadillacs (1956-72) and a solo artist, performing as Jimmy or James Bailey early on,  then J.R. Bailey from the later 60s and onward. With a storied career spanning roughly a quarter century, Bailey's contributions are rather lofty, though his accolades are few, with only a handful of minor hits to his credit. However, in certain circles he is highly regarded for his songwriting talents, having published over 300 songs with some pretty impressive titles to his credit. Bailey is most often co-credited and has worked extensively with a good handful of other talented writers and producers throughout his career. Among them are the likes of Bobby Spencer in his earliest years, Vernon Harrell through the mid 60s, Johnny Northern into the later 60s, then Mel Kent, Rudy Clark and Ken Williams during the 70s. Through the power of partnership, Bailey's efforts have span the spectrum of rhythm n blues, soul and funk music. Love, Love, Love (Selections From The Songbook Of J.R. Bailey)
